Victor Contractors

I had the opportunity to design and develop a site for Victor Contractors — a trusted name in residential and light commercial construction and fit-outs in New Zealand.

The goal was clear: create a modern, professional online presence that reflects Victor’s reputation for quality, reliability, and craftsmanship.

Design Approach

The design direction focused on strong visual hierarchy, clean lines, and an intuitive layout that guides visitors to key information quickly—services, experience, and contact. I used a muted colour palette with bold accents and full-width imagery to highlight completed projects and build trust from the first scroll.

Special attention was given to the mobile experience, ensuring the site feels just as polished and easy to navigate on smaller screens as it does on desktop.

Custom Theme Development

Rather than relying on page builders or pre-made themes, I built the site from the ground up using a custom WordPress theme. This allowed for complete design freedom and performance optimisation, and gave me full control over everything—from animation timing to the way content is managed in the backend.

I also included flexible content blocks in the WordPress admin so the Victor team can easily update the site themselves without worrying about layout or styling.
